About Sarah Stokely and Affirming ADHD
affirming adhd
To affirm: To offer support or encouragement.
Hi, I’m Sarah Stokely, a Counsellor, Educator and Mentor who offers individual and group support to ADHDers using a neurodiversity – affirming approach to life with ADHD.
I am a PACFA Registered Counsellor offering individual counselling to adults about adjusting to a later-in-life diagnosis of ADHD (or life with an ADHD child). I also have specialist training and experience in supporting adults who wish to heal from trauma or family violence, or are managing tricky relationships.
I also offer online group programs, which are a more affordable way to get support, and have the added benefit of connecting you to others who are also wanting to learn about ADHD and get support along the journey.
As someone who received a late diagnosis of ADHD myself, and is raising neurodivergent kids, I don’t just approach ADHD as a professional, but also someone with lived experience of the journey. You don’t need to ever explain or apologise for your ADHD. I get it. 🙂

Time for an update on how our first online group, Making Sense of Adult ADHD is coming together. The 6-week beta program finished this month, and I'm currently mulling over the participant feedback and my own reflections before I dive into finalising the course...
